About Sibel
Buluktimir
Sibel Buluktimir lived
in England for 23 years during which time she
trained and worked in Montessori kindergartens and a primary
school. She has since returned
to Izmir
in Turkey where she worked for 4 years at a
private school, Gelisim College,
with 5 to 11 year olds and where she was the coordinator for
Kindergarten and Grade One.
Sibel achieved great success teaching
young students with the synthetic phonics teaching
principles through multi-sensory activities including
playing games, songs, chants and reading and writing by
decoding and encoding. People commented that the students’
pronunciation was particularly clear and fluent. The
interest generated in Gelisim College led to Debbie being invited to
provide full training in the Phonics International programme
in August 2008.
Sibel is now working in
an MEF International School in Turkey teaching Grade One and Grade Two.
She has 6 classes of 19 children who are very enthusiastic
to learn in English as a second
language.
Sibel’s services
include:
-
advising parents, teachers and
student teachers about the synthetic phonics
teaching principles, multi-sensory teaching methods
and suitable
resources
-
